I love writing and turning my lyrics into demo recordings. My songs move between the autobiographical, semi-autobiographical and fictional. Even when a song is fictional, it still carries parts of my world, moments, colors and places. Subtle details I add breathe life into each piece and give it more presence.

My writing is also inspired by art, film, and culture that influence the imagery and the atmosphere of each story. I move across genres and experiment with styles. I am drawn to places with history and I sometimes approach time as non-linear, recontextualizing stories and locations that have stayed with me.

“Byrd” is a synthesis of myself and the tools I use to make sound and production. The idea for the sound and its direction comes from me, and the songwriting, including its themes, lyrics and emotional core, is entirely mine. My art is a space where I express ideas and stories through songs.

I’m grateful to have people around me who understand this, and I trust others will respect this boundary.
